It is my pleasure to congratulate members of the teaching staff, parents and students for their effort towards making English a priority in their daily communication. In this sub-department, we have many programmes that have made us achieve good result over the past years. These include;

Writing every Friday. This is a special day meant for essay writing. The teachers give essays which the
students are expected to work on over weekend and submit on Monday for revision
Reading time. In order to promote reading culture, we have rolled out reading programmes on Mondays and Tuesdays where students participate in reading set books.
Debates: the department organizes debates on Saturdays to boost students’ language fluency and improve their confidence in public speaking.
Weekly and daily quizzes. A part and CATS we give quizzes to students for revision.
In the KCSE of 2018, we managed to improve in mean score from 4.6643 in 2017 to 5.50 in 2018. Congratulations to the teachers of English for this good result.

Team work, good understanding and constant communication is our recipe to success. Above all, we acknowledge God in whatever we do.
